What’s a realistic wellness goal heading into the holidays and 2010? After talking to Dr. Deb (our weightloss coach par excellance), mine is to reduce my percentage of body fat and increase toning, which will gently trim things down a bit.
How? Well, 1) I’m taking myself off most “white” foods for the next two weeks: bread, pasta, sugar and dairy–and boosting veggies instead.
Nothing dramatic–just adding them to the soup I’m making (more carrots, please) or lunch (lots of lettuce wrapping a breadless “sandwich”). And 2) I’m adding an extra Personal Training session one morning a week.
(I’m also trying a fast from negative thoughts–but that’s a whole other discussion!) What’s your plan? Can we help? After careful consideration, we’re translating Pilates principles into a new, more cardio-based Personal Training session, with a “Whole Body Workout” here at the Centers. It will boost your heart rate and overall fitness with fast-paced:
- focused ab work
- mat-based floor exercises
- fitball for balance
- light hand weights
Teachers Tami and Stephanie have multiple certifications in Pilates and fitness to give you a really focused, fun, mindful workout that compliments Pilates and will burn calories for fastest results and fitness (without injury or imbalance).
If you want to try it, we’ll spot you a special rate of $45 for an assessment…
