The Pilates Center of St. Louis
What is Pilates?
The Pilates Method was created by Joseph Pilates in the 1920's as a way to integrate the mind and body. Pilates is built on the fundamental principles of balance, concentration, control, centered awareness, fluid movements, and breath. It focuses on developing core strength that increases flexibility, coordination and spatial awareness. The movements can be performed with or without specialized equipment that utilize springs for resistance.
Pilates creates a mind, body connection that engages the whole person. Pilates will develop and enhance stamina, posture, alignment and core strength for elite performance to everyday activities. Pilates is for everybody and every body. At The Pilates Center of St. Louis, we have certified instructors who strive to give you a unique fitness experience.
